How BlueCORE became the industry benchmark

BlueCORE has always been more than a product for us. It is our way of thinking. Our blueprint for how IT at sea should work when it is done right. It is the idea that one platform can cover the full scope of the onboard environment, integrate everything that needs to be connected and enable the people who rely on it every single day.

BlueCORE is our complete IT platform for vessels. It brings together everything the crew needs on board in one place. BlueCORE delivers the full network, all core systems, storage, security and the tools used every day through a stable server environment. It is built with full redundancy, meaning that if one part stops working another takes over, so the vessel can continue to operate without disruption. Instead of many separate systems, BlueCORE gives one unified and reliable platform that is easy to install, easy to manage and designed to work anywhere in the world.

What started as a simple concept many years ago has grown into our flagship today. A platform that has matured through every generation while keeping one goal in mind: Make it easier for our customers to stay one step ahead.

Over the years, we have taken every lesson from every vessel and turned it into a better BlueCORE. We have updated both hardware and software, step by step, while automating the full staging process to a level that is extremely rare in our industry. Very few innovators have a fully automated rollout pipeline, but for us, it is the standard. It allows us to deliver predictable quality and speed no matter where in the world a vessel is and that is what defines BlueCORE.

To show this journey we are sharing three images that capture the evolution of the platform. Each one tells a part of the story.

The start of the BlueCORE generation and the beginning of an era

The start of the BlueCORE generation and the beginning of an era

The early years The foundation of everything that came after. Custom built hardware, manual configuration and a lot of hands on work. This was where the first BlueCORE ideas took shape. A time when the platform relied heavily on individual installations and direct engineering on every vessel.

Standardization starting to take place to make installation and support easier

The transition phase This era marked the shift toward standardisation. More structure, cleaner builds and the first steps toward automating parts of the staging. The platform became easier to roll out and maintain, and many of the design principles we use today started here.

Fully automated BlueCORE Next Gen, ready for life at sea for many years ahead

Fully automated BlueCORE Next Gen, ready for life at sea for many years ahead

The fully automated generation This is BlueCORE as we know it now. A modern, unified, automated platform designed for global rollout. Hardware, software and processes refined to a level where quality is consistent no matter which vessel or shipyard we deliver to. A complete environment built for reliability and control.

Below is a short walk through the platform history from the early days to where we are now.

BlueCORE Next Generation 3

Alongside the main platform, BlueCORE ToGo has emerged as a portable extension of the Next Generation line, designed for fast deployments, mobility and the same predictable quality in a smaller footprint.

BlueCORE today represents many years of refinement and a mindset that has never changed. Simplicity. Reliability. Control. A complete onboard IT environment that just works and continues to set the standard for our industry.

If predictable quality is an option, why choose a platform that leaves anything to chance?

A more flexible way to stay in control

What ties all of this together is not a single feature, but a shift in how the platform is designed. Instead of a fixed dashboard, the portal is moving towards a more modular and user-driven approach
